Itching and aching with horrible Coachella/SxSw withdrawals? The visitor-friendly atmosphere in Las Vegas means a plethora of festivals for locals and out-of-towners to enjoy, because Las Vegas houses some of the largest Nevada music festivals. Here are some music festivals in Spring and Summer 2013 that are sure to whet your Vegas whistle for new music.
Punk Rock Bowling - May 24 to 27, 2013 @ Downtown Las Vegas
Punk Rock Bowling is an outdoor music festival with indoor club shows, bowling competitions and poker games. The festival has a fee for entry, but the club shows also carry their own individual cover charges on top of the entry cost for the festival. Kids under 8 attending with an adult get into the festival area for free. The poker competition and bowling games require early signup. Tickets will only be available in advance on the Punk Rock Bowling website. If the show doesn’t sell out, they will also be available at the door.
Electric Daisy Carnival - June 21 to 23, 2013 @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The Electric Daisy Carnival is an epic, massive electronic music festival that has made the headlines the last two years running with its incredible attendance levels. Generally equipped with the biggest names in electronic dance music, Electric Daisy Carnival is THE mega-gigantic rave in Las Vegas.
Tickets are $289 plus fee for a three-day pass, and are available here.
Tejano Music National Convention – Aug. 2 and 3, 2013 @ Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
Tejano is traditional Mexican-American folk-latin music with deep roots in Mexico. This festival will feature all-day music by known Tejano performers, plus an expo with networking opportunities and workshops and panels. Registration is $80 for standard convention-goers and $100 for VIP.
Registration for the Tejano Music Festival is here.
iHeartRadio Music Festival - Sept. 20 and 21, 2013 @ MGM Grand Resorts
Though its September 20 and 21, 2013 dates make it more of a fall music festival than a summer music festival, the weather will still be summer-warm in Las Vegas, which means a just-as-enjoyably-temperature music-going experience. This festival will be held at the MGM Grand Resort. Last year’s lineup in 2012 featured artists like P!NK, Rihanna, Pitbull and Deadmau5. More information, including iHeartRadio Music Festival ticket prices and lineups, will be announced in August.
